Studio Offerings:

After-school classes are offered as 6 week sessions to maximize the creative time together. These classes are geared towards students who want to deepen their artistic pursuits, or those beginning a new hobby. The emphasis is on skill-building, and that takes time. Current offerings are for ages 8-16.

What we’re all about:
Less is more.
Classes are capped at 8 students.
Small classes provide an opportunity for more assistance, a quieter learning environment and the ability for greater artistic risk-taking, a hallmark of creativity. Art can be a vulnerable process, especially during adolescence, and it is essential to have the time and space for everyone to feel settled.
Student choice.
At school, much of the time and learning is defined for students, without much room to explore. This studio is a place to slow down and focus on personal creativity. During week 1 of each trimester class, students have the opportunity to share any artistic interests and goals, then together we create a roadmap for the remainder of the trimester. There are always targeted skills, both individually and collectively, but each class is customized based on interests and the group dynamic.
Art needs practice.
The creative process needs time and space to be developed. There is a falsehood that artistry is a natural talent. Sure, some people are just incredibly gifted, but the vast majority need to be taught how to see, create, and refine the connection between the hand and mind.
